Pooling Your Trip
Once you have created a Book Seat trip request, pooling is the process of gathering other travelers to share the flight with you. This guide covers everything from opening your pool to sending the request to operators.
What Pooling Does
Pooling lets you build seat demand before operators are contacted. Here is the sequence:
- You create a trip request (starts in Draft).
- You start pooling — the trip opens for others to join.
- Travelers reserve seats until the pool is full or you decide to proceed.
- You send the request to operators, who then submit price offers.
- You review offers and select one — the trip is confirmed for everyone in the pool.
This model means operators only hear from you when real demand exists, which leads to more competitive offers.
Starting Pooling
Navigation: Jet4Me → My Flights → Pooling tab → open your trip card → tap Start Pooling
When you tap Start Pooling:
- Your trip status changes from Draft to Pooling.
- If your trip is set to Public, it immediately becomes visible in Book Seat search.
- Other travelers can now find and join your trip.
Public vs Private Pooling
When you created your trip, you chose a visibility setting. You can change it any time before the trip is sent to operators.
| Visibility | What it means |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone searching Book Seat can find and join your trip. Broader reach — more people can discover your pool. |
| Private | Only people you personally invite can join. Your trip does not appear in search. |
To toggle between Public and Private:
- Go to My Flights → Pooling and open your trip card.
- Tap the visibility toggle on the trip.
- Select Public or Private and confirm.
Sharing Your Trip
You can share your trip directly with anyone, even outside the app.
- Open your trip card in My Flights → Pooling.
- Tap the share icon.
- Tap Copy Link.
- Paste the link anywhere — WhatsApp, email, text message, social media.
Public trips: Anyone who receives the link can view the trip and join directly.
Private trips: People who receive the link can view the trip, but they still need a personal invitation to join. The link alone is not enough to gain access.
Inviting People Directly
You can invite specific people to your trip by email, phone number, or from your JetMates list.
- Open your trip card in My Flights → Pooling (available when the trip is in Pooling or Full status).
- Tap the Invite button.
- Search by email address or phone number, or browse your JetMates.
- Select the person you want to invite.
- Assign a seat count for them.
- Tap Send Invite.
Invited travelers will see the trip in their My Flights → Pooling tab with a You're Invited badge. Their seats are reserved immediately and count toward the total capacity — even before they formally accept.
Invite people from your JetMates list to quickly rebuild a trusted group from a previous flight — great for recurring routes.
Watching Your Pool Fill Up
Your trip card shows a seats progress bar at all times. It displays how many seats have been reserved out of the total capacity you set.
- As travelers join, the bar fills up.
- Invited seats are counted immediately (even if not yet accepted).
- When all seats are reserved, your trip status automatically changes to Full.
You can send the request to operators at any point — you do not need to wait for the pool to be completely full.
Sending to Operators
When you are ready to move forward, you send your trip request to operators. They will receive a notification and can submit price offers.
Navigation: My Flights → Pooling → open your trip → tap Send Request
You can send from either Pooling or Full status.
Before sending, the app will check:
- Whether any invited travelers have not yet confirmed their seats. You will see a warning listing pending invites. You can proceed anyway or wait for them to respond first.
After sending:
- Your trip status changes to Offers Requested.
- The trip is now locked — you can no longer edit the route, date, or seat count.
- Operators are notified and can begin preparing offers.
- You will receive a notification when offers arrive.
Once you send to operators, trip details are locked. Make sure the pool is how you want it before sending.
What Happens Next
After sending to operators:
- Offers Requested — waiting for operators to respond.
- Offer Received — review operator offers in your trip card. Each shows aircraft, pricing, and schedule.
- Select an Offer — accept an offer to confirm the flight. All other offers are automatically declined.
- Trip Confirmed — the flight is created, bookings are issued to all members, and the group chat opens.
All members of the pool are notified at each stage.
