JetMates
JetMates is your personal network of trusted travel companions on jet4us. Think of it as a contact list built for private aviation — mutual, confirmed connections with people you'd actually fly with.
What JetMates is for
- Invite trusted people to your pooling trips without sharing a public link
- Start a private conversation with a travel companion at any time
- Build your travel network of frequent flyers you trust
Unlike a general social network, JetMates is purposefully limited: connections are mutual, require confirmation from both sides, and can only be found by exact contact details. This protects everyone's privacy.
Finding and adding a JetMate
Go to Jet4Me → JetMates.
- In the search field, type the exact email address or exact phone number (including country code, for example +12025551234) of the person you want to add.
- If they have a jet4us account, their profile card appears.
- Tap Add JetMate to send them a connection request.
- They'll receive a notification and can accept or decline.
Search is exact-match only. You cannot search by name, partial email, or any other detail. This is intentional — it protects users from being found by people they don't know.
The person must already have a jet4us account. If they're not on jet4us yet, invite them to join first.
Accepting or declining requests
Incoming JetMate requests appear at the top of your JetMates screen with a gold banner.
- Tap Accept to confirm the connection. You'll both appear in each other's JetMates list.
- Tap Decline to reject the request. The request is removed quietly — the other person is not told why.
Your JetMates list
Once you have connections, they appear in your JetMates list:
- Sorted by name
- Each entry shows their display name and a message button
- Scroll down to load more if you have a long list
Chatting with a JetMate
Tap the message icon next to their name to open a direct chat. See Chat for more about how conversations work.
Inviting a JetMate to your trip
When you're creating a pooling trip and want to invite specific people:
- Open your trip card in
My Flights→ Pooling. - Tap Invite.
- Select from your JetMates list.
- Set how many seats to reserve for them.
- Send the invitation.
They'll receive a notification and see the invitation in their Pooling tab. See Trip Invitations for how the other side works.
Disconnecting a JetMate
If you want to remove someone from your JetMates:
- Find them in your JetMates list.
- Tap the three-dot menu on their entry.
- Select Disconnect JetMate and confirm.
The connection is removed for both sides. Your existing chat history is preserved — you can still see past messages, but you won't be able to send new messages until you reconnect.
Privacy
- Your profile is not searchable by name or any browsable directory.
- Only people who know your exact email or phone number can find you.
- You are never added to anyone's JetMates without accepting the request yourself.
- You can disconnect at any time.
