Glossary
All jet4us terms in one place, organized alphabetically.
Booking A confirmed seat reservation on a confirmed trip. Bookings are created automatically when an operator's offer is accepted — one booking per traveler on the trip. Bookings can also be created when a traveler books a seat directly via Fly Now.
Book Jet A booking mode where one traveler or group charters an entire aircraft privately. No seat sharing, no pooling, no per-seat pricing. Book Jet trips are always Private and are never visible in public search. Supports One-Way, Round-Trip, and Multi-City itineraries.
Book Seat A booking mode where multiple travelers share the cost of a private jet by reserving individual seats. Demand pools together before operators are contacted. Can be set to Public (anyone can find and join) or Private (invitation only). Supports One-Way and Round-Trip itineraries.
Capacity / Seats Total The maximum number of seats available on a Book Seat trip request. Set by the trip owner when creating the trip. Once all seats are reserved, the trip status moves to Full.
Confirmed Trip A trip that exists after an operator's offer has been accepted. It has a confirmed schedule, a confirmed operator and aircraft, and issued bookings for each traveler. Visible in the Confirmed tab of My Flights.
Draft The initial status of a trip request. The trip is being set up and is not yet visible to other travelers or operators. The owner can edit all trip details while it is in Draft.
Expiry The time limit on a trip request or offer. When a trip request expires, it moves to Cancelled status and no further actions are possible. When an offer expires, it can no longer be accepted. Expiry is evaluated when the app is opened or an action is taken — it is not a live countdown on the screen.
Flight Request The notification sent to operators when a traveler's trip request is ready for price proposals. Also called an "offer request" in the operator panel. Operators receive flight requests and respond by submitting offers.
Fly Now A search tab that shows confirmed flights with available seats departing within the next 7 days. Designed for travelers who want to book immediately without going through a pooling process.
Full The trip request status reached when all seats have been reserved by members. The owner can now send the request to operators to receive price proposals.
JetMate / JetMates A mutual connection between two jet4us users who have both accepted each other's connection request. JetMates can be invited to trips directly and can message each other through JetMates Direct chat, independent of any active trip.
jet4us The platform. A demand-driven private aviation marketplace where travelers pool their demand before operators are contacted — inverting the traditional charter process. Available on iOS, Android, and Web.
Jet4Me The personal hub section of the traveler app. Contains four tabs: My Flights, My Pools, JetMates, and Chat. Everything related to your travel activity and connections lives here.
Local Currency An operator's domestic or reference currency used for internal FX comparison at the time an offer is created. Set by the operator in their Preferences. The FX rate and converted amount are locked at offer creation and never recalculated.
My Pools A lightweight route subscription feature that lets travelers signal ongoing interest in specific city-pair routes. Useful for travelers who fly a route regularly and want to be notified when relevant trips appear.
Offer A price proposal submitted by an operator in response to a trip request. An offer includes the price, schedule, aircraft details, and a validity period. Travelers review available offers and accept the one that suits them. Only one offer can be accepted per trip request.
Operator A charter aviation company registered on jet4us that submits price offers and manages confirmed flights. Operators work inside the Operator Panel and must complete onboarding — including document verification and currency setup — before they can submit offers.
Operator Terms The cancellation policy and service terms published by an operator in their Preferences. Travelers must acknowledge these terms before completing payment. Operators must publish their terms before they can submit any offer.
Payment Proof A screenshot or receipt that a traveler uploads to demonstrate a completed bank transfer. The operator reviews the proof and either approves or rejects it. If rejected, the traveler receives a reason and can resubmit a corrected proof.
Pooling The process of gathering multiple travelers on a Book Seat trip request before the request is sent to operators. Pooling builds collective demand — more confirmed seats mean a stronger request and a lower per-seat cost. Pooling does not apply to Book Jet trips.
Private A visibility setting meaning the trip is invite-only and does not appear in public search results. Members can only join via a direct invitation from the owner. Book Jet trips are always Private and this cannot be changed.
Public A visibility setting meaning the trip appears in search results and any logged-in traveler can request to join. Only available for Book Seat trips.
Quote Currency The currency an operator uses to price all their offers. Set by the operator in Preferences. Shown to travelers when they review an offer. Both quote currency and local currency must be set before an operator can submit any offer.
Traveler A jet4us user who searches for, creates, or joins flights. Travelers use the main app interface (Jet4Me hub), manage trip requests, review offers, and handle bookings and payments.
Trip Request A demand signal created by a traveler before operators are involved. The trip request captures the route, dates, passenger count, and preferences. It progresses through pooling stages (Draft → Pooling → Full → Request Sent) before becoming a confirmed trip after an offer is accepted.
