Trip Invitations

When someone wants you to join their pooling trip, they can send you a direct invitation. This page explains what happens when you receive one and how to respond.

Receiving an invitation

When a trip owner invites you, you'll get an in-app notification right away.

The invitation then appears in Jet4MeMy FlightsPooling, marked with a gold You're Invited badge so it stands out from your other trips.

The card shows you everything you need to decide:

What you'll seeDetails
RouteOrigin and destination cities or airports
Departure dateWhen the trip is scheduled to depart
Seats reserved for youThe number the owner has set aside
Who invited youThe trip owner's name

What reserved seats mean

The trip owner has already set aside a specific number of seats for you. Those seats count toward the trip's total capacity right away — even before you accept.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • You cannot change the seat count when you accept. The number is fixed by the invitation.
  • If you don't respond and other seats fill up around yours, your reserved seats continue to hold that space — so it's worth responding promptly.
  • If you decline, the seats are released back to the pool for others to take.

Accepting the invitation

  1. Open the invited trip card in Jet4MeMy FlightsPooling.
  2. Tap Join →.
  3. A confirmation screen appears showing your reserved seat count — review it and confirm.

You're now a member of the trip.

tip

After accepting, your trip card stays in the Pooling tab and follows the same flow as any other member. You'll wait while the trip fills up, then the owner sends the request to operators, and once an offer is accepted your booking moves to My FlightsConfirmed.

Declining the invitation

  1. Open the invited trip card.
  2. Tap Decline.
  3. Confirm the action.

Your reserved seats are released back to the pool immediately. You won't be added to the trip, and the card disappears from your Pooling tab.

note

You can only accept or decline — you cannot request a different seat count. If you need a different number of seats, reach out to the trip owner directly before they send the request to operators.

After you accept

Once you've joined:

  • Your trip appears in Jet4MeMy FlightsPooling alongside any other trips you've created or joined.
  • You're included in the trip's group chat once it becomes active.
  • When the owner sends the request to operators and an offer is accepted, your booking is created automatically.
  • Your booking then moves to My FlightsConfirmed, where you'll complete payment to secure your seat.

For next steps, see How payments work.

If the invitation expires or the trip is cancelled

  • Invitation cards tied to cancelled or expired trips are removed from your Pooling tab automatically.
  • No action is needed on your part — the card simply disappears.
  • If a trip you were expecting vanished, check with the person who invited you.
